Repairs in condo and apartment communities

Most homes in Fontainebleau are condos, apartments and townhouses. In buildings like these, a repair visit goes smoothly when access is sorted out first. Check whether management needs the contractor's details, which entrance to use, and whether there are set hours for repairs.

With most residents renting, the first question is often who is responsible for the appliance. Many leases make the landlord responsible for appliances that came with the unit. If you own your condo or townhouse, or your landlord asks you to arrange the repair, call and we'll connect you with an independent contractor who serves your ZIP code.

Compact kitchens and laundry closets are common here. Have the brand and model number ready, and say whether the unit is stacked, built in or counter-depth. If a washer or dishwasher is leaking, turn off its water supply right away. Water moves quickly between units.

About the area

Serving Fontainebleau

Fontainebleau is an unincorporated community in west Miami-Dade, about 10 miles west of downtown Miami. Sweetwater lies to the west and Westchester to the south. Lennar's headquarters on NW 107th Avenue, Miami Christian School and FIU's Engineering Center are all within the community.

The name comes from the famous Miami Beach resort. In 1970 the resort's original owner, Ben Novack, planned a golf course, resort and community here called Fontainebleau Park. Financial problems got in the way of the full plan, but the name stuck, and the area grew into one of the most densely built communities in west Miami-Dade.
